Frequently asked questions
With RTT (the hypnosis technique I use), hypnosis feels lighter than most people expect—because you'll need to be able to talk, reflect, and answer questions during the session. You’ll feel relaxed, focused, and fully aware, not “asleep” or “out of it.”
You won’t feel "hypnotized"—you will feel completely normal. And that’s exactly how it should be. Hypnosis isn’t about losing control or going into a mysterious trance.
It’s simply a calm, focus state of awareness where your conscious mind relaxes, allowing us to gently bypassing the critical mind - the analytical part that often resists change - so we can work directly with the subconscious which becomes open to positive change.
The effectiveness of hypnosis does not depend on how “deep” you go. Even in this light, conversational state, the changes are just as powerful and lasting - because they happen at the root level of your subconscious mind.
In short:
Hypnosis feels completely natural—you remain aware, comfortable, and in control the whole time, while powerful and profound changes take place within your subconscious.
No—you are always in control during hypnosis. You cannot be made to say or do anything you don’t want to. You’ll be aware of everything that’s happening, able to speak, move, or open your eyes at any time if you wish.
Hypnosis is not about giving up control—it’s about helping you access a relaxed, focused state where your subconscious mind is more open to positive change. In fact, most people feel more empowered during hypnosis, because they are finally working with the part of the mind that truly drives their thoughts, emotions, and habits.
In short:
You never lose control in hypnosis—you stay aware, safe, and empowered the whole time.
Hypnosis is not sleep, mind control, or being unconscious. You remain fully aware, in control, and able to choose what you accept or reject.
It is not about “giving up control” or being made to do something against your will (like the stage hypnosis you may have seen on TV). Therapeutic hypnosis is a safe, collaborative process where your mind becomes more focused and receptive—but you are always in charge.
It’s also not magic or a quick trick. Instead, hypnosis is a proven, natural way of gently bypassing the critical mind and working directly with your subconscious, where true and lasting change can take place.
In short:
❌ Not sleep
❌ Not mind control
❌ Not tricks or magic
✅ A safe, natural state where real change happens
Yes, hypnosis is completely safe. It is a natural state that your mind enters and leaves on its own many times a day. You are never unconscious, never under someone else’s control, and you can always choose to stop at any time.
Therapeutic hypnosis is very different from stage hypnosis—it’s a collaborative process where you remain fully aware, in charge, and supported throughout the entire experience.
In short:
Hypnosis is 100% safe—you stay aware, in control, and comfortable the whole time.
Yes—everyone can experience hypnosis, because it’s a natural state that we all enter many times a day, like when you’re deeply absorbed in a book, a movie, or driving on “autopilot.”
With RTT (the technique of hypnosis I use), the state of hypnosis is always light and conversational—exactly what’s needed to access the subconscious and create powerful change. The effectiveness does not depend on going “deeper.”
In short:
Everyone can be hypnotized—it’s a natural, light state that allows deep transformation to happen.
Your subconscious mind is like the gentle “operating system” running quietly in the background of your life.
It holds all your memories, experiences, beliefs, and habits—almost like the hard drive of a computer. Without you even realizing it, it influences about 95% of your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors automatically.
Between your conscious mind (the part that makes daily choices) and your subconscious mind sits the critical mind—a kind of security guard. Its role is to decide what gets through to your subconscious.
From birth until around age 7, this “guard” isn’t fully developed yet. These early years are often called the “blueprintyears,” because everything you see, hear, and feel goes straight in and becomes the foundation for your inner programs—the ones that shape how you think, act, and respond as an adult.
The main job of your subconscious mind is to keep you alive. It always works for you—never against you. Sometimes the results or reactions it creates don’t seem helpful on the surface, but they are simply the mind’s best attempt at protection with the information it had at the time.
For example:
If a dog tried to bite you as a child, your subconscious may have created a fear of dogs to protect you by linking “dog = danger.” This fear keeps you away from dogs, because your mind believes that staying away = staying safe.
If you fell while climbing a tree, your subconscious may have recorded “heights = danger.” That fear then makes you cautious about climbing or being up high, so you avoid what it sees as risky.
In deeper cases, such as trauma or abuse, the subconscious may even create physical symptoms (like a skin condition) to make you seem less approachable, keeping an abuser away in order to protect you.
But sometimes the strategies your subconscious uses are outdated, misguided, or based on childhood logic. So while the intention is protective, the outcome may no longer be useful. For example, overeating to self-soothe might have made sense as a child, but now it causes harm.
That’s why hypnosis is powerful: it helps you update the subconscious programs so your mind can keep protecting you, but in healthier, more empowering ways.
These protective patterns are powerful, but they don’t always serve you anymore. Sometimes they create fears, habits, or blocks that keep you stuck, even though you’re safe now.
That’s why you might notice yourself reacting, thinking, or feeling in ways you don’t actually want—because your subconscious is still running those old “settings.” And since it controls 95% of your life, willpower alone often isn’t enough to create real, lasting change.
Hypnosis allows you to gently bypass the critical mind and speak directly to the subconscious. In this safe and natural state, you can release outdated programs, let go of limiting beliefs, and create new, supportive patterns—just like updating your computer with the newest, most empowering version.
In short:
Your subconscious runs 95% of your life and is always trying to protect you, even if it sometimes holds on to fears or patterns you no longer need. Hypnosis helps you safely update those old programs so you can feel free, calm, and in control again.
Hypnosis is a natural, relaxed state of focused attention—similar to when you’re so absorbed in a book, movie, or daydream that the outside world fades away.
It’s also like when you’re driving on autopilot or doing something so familiar (like showering, walking, or cooking) that your mind drifts elsewhere while your body keeps going.
During hypnosis, you gently bypass the critical mind (the part that normally filters information) and connect directly with your subconscious.
This is why hypnosis can create changes that willpower alone often cannot—because it speaks to the deeper part of your mind where habits, beliefs, and automatic patterns live.
You are always in control during hypnosis. You can hear everything, you can speak if you want to, and you cannot be made to do anything against your will.
Hypnosis simply helps you quiet the busy conscious mind so you can update old programs and create positive, lasting change.
In short:
Hypnosis feels natural and light—you’re aware and in control the whole time, while deep subconscious change is taking place.
RTT® (Rapid Transformational Therapy®) is a pioneering method created by Marisa Peer, an internationally acclaimed therapist, best-selling author, and speaker with over three decades of experience in the field of hypnotherapy and psychotherapy.
RTT® is a powerful method that combines the most effective techniques priciples of hypnotherapy, psychotherapy, NLP, and cognitive behavioral therapies to create rapid, lasting transformation.
It works by uncovering the root cause of a problem—often an old belief or memory stored in the subconscious—and then transforming it at its source.
Instead of just managing symptoms, RTT® helps you release outdated patterns and rewire your mind with new, empowering beliefs.
Most clients notice significant shifts after just one to three sessions, making RTT® faster and more effective than traditional talk therapy for many issues.
RTT® can be used on its own or works very well in addition to psychotherapy. For some people, it provides the deep subconscious change that complements ongoing therapy. For others, it serves as a stand-alone approach that brings clarity, relief, and lasting transformation.
In short:
RTT® works at the root cause of issues—rewiring the subconscious for lasting change, whether on its own or alongside psychotherapy.
Hypnosis can be applied to a wide range of emotional, mental, and even physical challenges—because it works at the subconscious level, where patterns and beliefs are created.
Some of the most common issues include:
Habits & addictions: smoking, overeating, nail-biting, drinking, etc.
Anxiety & stress: panic attacks, overthinking, sleep problems, etc.
Confidence & self-esteem: public speaking, performance, self-image, etc.
Fears & phobias: fear of flying, spiders, driving, heights, etc.
Relationships: jealousy, fear of rejection, difficulty feeling secure, etc.
Physical issues with emotional roots: chronic pain, skin conditions, weight struggles, IBS, high blood pressure, etc.
Success & performance: money blocks, procrastination, motivation, creativity, etc.
…and much more
Hypnosis is not a replacement for medical or psychiatric treatment, but it can be a powerful complement when an issue has emotional or belief-based roots.
In short: Hypnosis helps with habits, fears, confidence, stress, relationships, health challenges, and success blocks—by rewiring the subconscious at the root cause.
💫 If you’re unsure whether hypnosis can help with your specific issue, feel free to contact me and we can explore it together.
Each RTT session is a safe, guided process designed to help you relax, explore, and transform at the subconscious level.
Here’s what you can expect:
Intake & preparation – A few days before your RTT session, you’ll fill out a written intake form and we’ll have a short Zoom intake call (20–30 minutes). This gives you space to reflect on your goals, and allows me to ask deeper questions so your session is fully customized. By the time we start hypnosis, you’ll already feel prepared and clear.
Conversation & clarity – At the beginning of the RTT session, we briefly review your goals, what you’d like to change, and the outcomes you desire. This sets the focus for the work.
Entering hypnosis – I gently guide you into a light, natural state of hypnosis—relaxed and aware—so we can access the subconscious.
Exploration – I’ll ask you questions to uncover the root cause of the issue. The memories or “blueprints” that surface are often linked to small, seemingly insignificant moments—not necessarily big traumas. Yet these early impressions can still create strong subconscious patterns that affect you today. And you can trust that your subconscious will only bring back what you are ready and able to process safely—never more than you can handle.
Transformation – Together, we reframe and release old beliefs, then install new, empowering suggestions that support your goals.
Personal recording – You’ll receive a personalized audio recording to listen to for 21 days, (as science shows it takes about three weeks to create new neural pathways). Listening daily reinforces the positive changes at the subconscious level.
The intake call (done a few days before your session) usually lasts 20–30 minutes. The RTT session itself usually lasts 90–120 minutes.
You’ll be fully aware and in control throughout, and the experience is always safe, supportive, and tailored to you.
In short:
A session includes a relaxed induction, guided exploration of root causes, powerful transformation work, and a personalized recording to lock in your results.
All sessions are held online via Zoom, allowing you to relax in the comfort of your own home. This way, you don’t need to travel, and you can create a safe, quiet space that feels familiar and comfortable to you.
It’s important to make sure you are in a private space where you won’t be disturbed for 90–120 minutes. Please ensure there are no kids, no pets, and no interruptions during your session. A stable internet connection is essential, and using headphones is recommended for the best sound quality.
Online hypnosis is just as effective as in-person sessions—the subconscious doesn’t need you to be in the same room. Many clients even find they go deeper because they are already in their own relaxed environment.
In short: Sessions take place online via Zoom—just make sure you’re in a private, quiet space with no interruptions and a stable internet connection.
Every person is unique, and so is every issue. RTT is designed to create fast and lasting results, but the number of sessions depends on the individual and the depth of the pattern.
Think of it like peeling an onion: each session can clear away a layer of old programming. Sometimes a shift happens quickly, and sometimes several layers need attention before full transformation is achieved.
For many people, 1 to 3 sessions on the same issue is common, while others may benefit from up to 4–5 sessions to fully resolve deeper patterns.
Unlike traditional talk therapy, RTT works directly with the subconscious, so progress usually happens much faster than most people expect.
In short: Most issues are addressed in 1–3 sessions, though deeper patterns may need up to 5—like peeling the layers of an onion until the root is clear.
After your session, you’ll receive a personalized recording designed to reinforce the new beliefs and patterns we created together. Listening to it daily is a key part of the transformation process.
Here’s why:
Your subconscious mind learns through repetition. Each time you listen, the new message is strengthened, just like practicing a skill.
Science shows it takes about 21 days to build or rewire a habit. By listening daily, you’re giving your brain the consistency it needs to lock in the change.
The recording keeps the session alive, ensuring that the powerful insights from hypnosis continue to grow stronger day by day.
Think of it like planting a seed during the session: the recording is the daily sunlight and water that helps it take root and flourish.
In short: Listening for 21 days reinforces the change—repetition trains your subconscious, making new beliefs and habits strong and lasting.
